Friday 2 April 2010

Totally ADDICTED to Kelis's new track 'Acapella'. Take note of the Benni Benassi remix if you can find it - it makes my knees tremble. Last night we tore whisky mist apart - myself and DJ Remy (St Germain) were tag teaming, dodging blows from crazy bitch fights, refusing to play stereo love or mgmt, blinding everyone with our attrocious lighting skills and making riyad dance the robot all night long.

if you missed it you're a fool.

This week is all about Whisky Mist infact. It's my new obsession (along with Acapella). Its like i'd forgotten how much fun that club was and suddenly the easter bunny came and bit my ass and force fed me easter eggs and reminded me the joys of spring and whisky mist.

Ok, this is beginning to sound a bit like an informercial for the place so subject change now!

Just finalising the details for my Spring Break US of A tour - keep an eye out for dates - will be hitting up both the east and west coast. If you are interested in me playing while i'm out there (think end april early may) hit up my agent pink@mc2mm.com and we'll see if we can squeeze ya in.

PS - do you think i should go blonde again??

Last week at Maddox - Lambrecht turned pap and caught me mid set up - i think the sexy glow of a mac book pro will be the lighting du jour for all the top photographers from now on don't you think?? C'est tres chic.

The Obituary - RIP Paul Frank Puffa Jr.

Early last saturday morning, at approximately 3:30am GMT the world suffered a tragic tragic loss.  Paul Frank Puffa Jr. passed on to its next life.

It was while lounging around Maddox night club minding its own business, after its owner had carelessly left it there rather than put it in the safe confines of the DJ booth, that Paul Frank Puffa Jr. met its untimely end.

PFP Jr. was considered by many of its peers as one of the worlds great explorers and it was noted that PFP Jr radiated warmth to all that wore it from the core of it's stuffing.

Paul Frank Puffa Jr. came into this world when its then owner, Jackie Petri, felt the sadness and loss that her friend Marie-Claire was feeling after she had generously given Paul Frank Puffa Senior to a friend who fell in love with it. On acquiring its new owner, PFP Jr quickly embraced Marie-Claire and soon fell completely in sync in regulating her body temperature no matter what the climate.

It is most fondly remembered and revered for it's North American tour it undertook in '06-'07 where it got to endure -10 celsius temperatures in Northern Texas in rattlesnake strewn deserts, bus crashes in Utah in 6 foot of snow, being stranded out in the Mojave desert in 30 degrees celsius (where it became a useful pillow upon bedding down for the night).  It's great explorer status was cemented further when it travelled cross country from Los Angeles in a record breaking 3 day drive to reach Conneticut in time for an evening show.  It ventured to as far south as Louisiana and explored the beauty of South Carolina while protecting it's owner from a dirty old man in a parking lot.  It's been straddled by strippers in Vegas (all who wanted to try PFP Jr on for size), had ketchup dripped on it from hot dogs in NY, braved Halloween in HotLanta, and even met some of its peers in the Mall of America in Minnesota, it's seen  ghosts in the Eagles Ballroom, Milwaukee (thanks Lags for the venue reminder), and real life monsters in Salt Lake City (thanks Necro for stealing my laptop you pikey fuck).

Other adventures have been as far south as the wilds of Southern Africa where it saw off wild animals and protected the owner from night time frost and the dark caverns of the London Underground, it's been fun fair riding in Blackpool and 6am surfing in Los Angeles, raving in Hoxton and tea in the Cotswolds.

It was a kind coat and while it's fur hood was a little bedraggled with age, it still had many a good year left in it.  And so on this sad day, we remember Paul Frank Puffa Jr. and lament on its loss to this world.  All we can do now is speculate that it was a quick and easy death and PFP Jr did not suffer in any way.

RIP Paul Frank Puffa Junior - you will be sadly missed.
